MISSION MINUTE
At Hook & Gaff, we’re reminded every day how curious and creative kids can be. Whether it’s setting up lemonade stands, mowing lawns, selling bracelets, or even taking over Mom’s phone to make a reel (looking at you, our youngest “marketing intern” 😉), our kids are constantly dreaming up ways to earn their own money.
It’s not just about the dollars . . . it’s about the lessons: hard work, creativity, and the confidence that comes from turning an idea into action. These are the seeds of entrepreneurship, and we couldn’t be prouder of the young go-getters who inspire us.

TIME FOR INSPIRATION
Looking for ways to spark your kids’ interest in entrepreneurship? Here are some fun, simple ideas to get them started:
- Classic Lemonade Stand – A timeless introduction to business basics: supplies, pricing, and customer service.
-
Farm Stand – Plant a garden and then sell tomatoes, peppers and fresh herbs at a neighborhood Farm Stand.
- Pet Services – Dog walking, pet sitting, or even washing neighborhood pups.
- Yard Help – Raking leaves, watering plants, or helping neighbors with gardens.
- Creative Crafts – Friendship bracelets, painted shells, or homemade slime to sell at school events or family gatherings.
- Digital Hustles – For older kids, consider tutoring, designing digital art, or reselling items online with supervision.
- Holiday Helpers – Wrapping gifts, baking cookies, or creating handmade cards for special occasions.
Encourage them to brainstorm what they love doing—because when passion meets effort, the lessons learned are priceless.

TIME FOR A CHALLENGE
This week's Challenge: Sit down with your kids and create a Business Idea Board together.
Here’s how:
- Ask Questions – What do you love to do? What could you help others with?
- Brainstorm Ideas – Write down anything that comes to mind—big or small.
- Pick One – Choose a fun, simple idea to try out this month.
- Celebrate Effort – Whether it’s a lemonade stand or helping with chores, the real reward is the pride they’ll feel in creating something themselves.
Snap a picture of your child’s idea board or mini “business launch” and tag us with #TimeWellSpent—we’d love to see their creativity in action!
